what is your thoughts on this invention,, ive got a prototype made up of a devise that ,, will guarantee to fill an old styly central heating system ie tank and cylinder,,,with out creating air locks in the dwh or heating,, it will do this in under 15 mins ,, ive used it were plumbers have drained down a system, then have left the cylinder or a few radiators cold,, my concern is would it be bought ??in my area there is say 10 to 15 % who have yet to convert to a combi,, whats the percentage of old conventional systems in your areas?? its based on a refrigeration technology and would cost say 50 quid

possibly but try conntact try get to one our shows to show it off
or get in conntact with monument or rothernburger and see if they
be intrested since they are market leader in our tools

But before you show it to anyone, at least register the design if not take out a patent (if there's anything patentable) otherwise anyone who sees it can just copy it.

not saying its not a good idea but any systems that i have trouble with i just back fill with cold mains like most plumbers

A sensible suggestion; but have you any idea how much it costs and how long it takes to resister a design or take out a patent?

Years and thousands of pounds.

The first thing to do is make sure your drawings are protected by copyright, which prevents others people making the device unless they pay you a royalty. However this is easier to say than to do. Under British law, copyright of a drawing, book etc automatically belongs to the author - there is no formal procedure as in the USA. So how do you prove that you drew the drawings before someone else?

Easy. You put a copy of the drawings in an envelope and send it by registered mail to yourself. When you receive the envelope, DO NO OPEN IT. Give the letter, unopened to your bank or solicitor for safe keeping.

If someone then tries to manufacture your device without paying you a royalty, you open letter in their presence and show them your drawing of the device. The date on the envelope is the latest date at which you can have made the drawing.

This is a frequently used procedure for protecting copyright.

sounds brilliant. i'm over 10 years in central heating and for a nifty i imagine you could shift quite a few

Refilling vented systems successfully can often be a lottery. Anything that stacks the odds in favour of an airlock free refill would be welcome.

Air locks can happen but dont always happen and open vented systems are dying out My opinion is that its a shrinking market and will give you deminishing returns. bear this in mind when you make any descisions

Do you need any other toold/equipment to use it??

Can it put the bubble back in a pirmatic system (not that I will ever work on one again)?

No one would buy it!! I've never seen any vented central heating system that can't be filled with mains water, a pressure or vacuum pump.

All these daft tools are a waste of money & it's the daft CC/CCCs that buy them.

the device set up time is a couple of minits,, there no risk of leaks and its fail safe.. it may do a primatic system but ive not tried on one..looking on the inventors sites it suggests seeing if any thing else currently exists that is simler,,,ive never heard or seen any thing simler can any one advise me if thay have??? rothenberger and monument may be usefull contacts ta

I get more 'blocked cold feeds' than airlocks, if your device could predict which ones are blocked then you're onto a winner.

Otherwise I'll carry on with lots of towels and stiff wire.

DH

and stiff wire...............................Guess you must've found the porn stash behind the cylinder eh DH??!!
