Can anyone help? I am going to glue and screw a piece of plywood to my plasterboard and then mount my tv to the plywood? Would this hold?

What's behind the plasterboard, bricks/blocks, wooden or metal studs?

I’m not an expert but recently had Curries tech people come and pick up my 65 inch TV due to technical issues and when we were chatting they asked where mine was, I explained we have it on a stand as we weren't confident mounting on wall due to it being just a partition wall with plasterboard and they advised they it would be fine for any TV up to 65 inch as long as the correct fixings were used

Our ancient (but working) 42" plasma weighs over 60kg. It is mounted on a 9" brick party wall. Needless to say, whenever I need to decorate, I paint around it.

The above lists it as 75kg but that includes the weight of the base cabinet.
