Hi,

I'm looking to lay 6mm plywood throughout the ground floor of my 60's semi in order to accommodate a) tiles in kitchen and utility room and b) 18mm solid oak throughout the rest.

I wonder if anyone could please advise whether i should nail or screw, and if so what length of screw i should use. I have the use of a Makita screw gun and have done plasterboarding with this but will the screws sit just under flush in the plywood so they don't stick out causing problems when i lay the actual floor?

Any help much appreciated.

Cheers,

James

You need 12mm minimum under tiled areas. The timber floor rather depends on how level it all is and how you intend to fix.?
