Hi Again....

As I'm sure everyone must know by now I am in the process of laying our Sandstone patio, 50m2 by myself. I am well underway and think I'm roughly halfway but am concerned about the damp start to October and arrival of winter.

My question is, I have NOT been pointing as I go as I wanted to take my time and do this separately as a little mini project once I'd got the flags laid. Reading paving expert it says you should point as you go so not to lay cured mortar against wet. Will this cause me problems?

I have laid the patio on a wet mix and also want to wet point as this is supposed to be the best?

Many thanks.

Well you dont have much choice now, do you?! I would recommend pointing as you go (as it breaks the job into smaller chunks). I normally point the same day or first thing next morning. For the rest that you have already laid, make sure the mix is slightly wet - a drier mix will not bond well.
