Oh so you are saying that the Police only work if they fancy it or have no choice?
Never any shortage of officers when celebs are involved is there? How do you think that looks. Those two incidents I mentioned are only my MOST recent experiences but in reality I have had FAR worse.
I emailed all my local neighbourhood watch groups offering to give a 5% discount on my services using an email address I found on the public domain . . . I recieved a phone call from an officer later that day threatening me and telling me not to send anything to that email address again. I said I wouldn''t and duly didn't but could not understand why.
I discovered some time later that I had been reported to trading standards by the police for 'HIGH PRESSURE SAKES TECHNIQUES'... WTF!!!
I sent an email offering discount to a neighbourhood watch group and that was 'HIGH PRESSURE'. Seeing how things have gone lately the truth was probably that a local alarm company had first dibs on any burglaries and a nice kickback arrangement was in place.
All I was offering was discounted alarm installations to NW groups.
You would actually think the police would have liked that wouldn't you but no I got a sly kicking in the balls instead and the cowards didn't even have the nerve to tell me.
Your comment about the stabbing they were dealing with at the time just shows your lack of common sense. Several huge stones on a major trunk road carriageway which was unlit at night presented a very real danger to life. As already mentioned the officer I reported the stones to was in a MaccyD car park when I found him and skiddadled off shift instead of dealing with it. The next day when I rang to enquire why they were still there I was questioned about what the officer looked like who i had reported to. Obviously Mr (I'm gonna waste time sitting in MaccyD till my shift ends) had not even bothered to pass the info on. He was certainly not involved in a mere stabbing.
You know I have reported several things over the years - people on Motorway bridges about to jum into traffic etc etc I do what I feel is my civic duty . . but I always get the sense that any urgency stops as soon as anything lands in the hands of plod.
Why didn't you move the stones then? Was that not part of your civic duty?

Ok I would have done if it weren't for the fact they were on the A61 between Harewood and Leeds. An extremely busy trunk/arterial road where undulations would have made my stationary parked car unsighted to 60mph traffic particularly as some of the stones were just around bends unsighted by hedges.
I normally do anything - examples chased and caught a shoplifter - wrestled for nearly an hour with a car thief until the Police arrived and was recommended for a citizens bravery award reported many crimes etc etc but I did a RISK assesment and decided that to cross the road as a pedestrian or to park my car was dangerous with the continual flow of traffic so i took the decision to pass the job onto someone with the ability to stop traffic if necessary of which of course I have no remit.
When they did move them they did not contact me to say thanks or wasting our time thay actually thanked me for reporting it and apologised for not sorting it sooner.
But hey I'm not going to big up this particular issue it was only mentioned because those were literally the last two occasions I had contacted the Police and the outcomes thereof.
I wont even mention finding a mobile phone in a gutter where we had just had a load of stone taken from a roof. The phone led straight back to the thief. The police action . . . to hand him his phone back!!!
Nor will I mention more gypsy related crimes and stone thefts like the van seen by the milkman taking stone off another roof and him calling the police and the van being stopped 5 minutes away where the police took no action because the gypsies told them they got the stone from somewhere else....
I could go on but I would hate to put more effort into something than I have ever seen the Police put in.
Ok, so if a four year old child was drowning in a boating lake, would you call the Police and wait, or take the initiative to jump in and save her.?????
