OMG Mottie, is this a wind up, you cook like a michelin star chef and now your Mrs Bloomers look like they are straight out of the Chelsea flower show. I feel so inadequate !

Likely a rail/tube/canal tunnel ventilation shaft?
That's what I thought, but there's no tunnel or underground structure as far as I know.
Could there be a ww2 shelter under there?

Looks a bit modern to be WW2, it could be a sewer ventilation shaft.
But this is in the woods.
Closest house is 300/400 yards from there.

I may be completely wrong, but it most certainly is a vent shaft for something. Sewer ventt shafts are found in the strangest of places.
