I have a hot air heating system with a Honeywell two wire room stat, I want to replace it with Hive active. EP4002 wiring as below. Can someone please help me to connect Hive Single receiver. Thank you in advance.

The Hive receiver replaces the EP, so the wires are simply moved across to the Hive terminals that have the same function.

The N, L & E are self explanatory and go to the N, L & E at the Hive single channel receiver
The wire presently in 5 goes to the Hive 'Common' (1)
The wire presently in 4 goes to the Hive 'Heating on' (3)

Because the Hive provides time and temperature control, the existing room thermostat needs to be taken out of service to stop it interfering with the Hive, but you can't simply disconnect it as the heating would think that the thermostat was 'off' and the heating will not come on.

If as you say, there are only two wires at the existing room thermostat, they can be joined together by putting them both in the same terminal at the thermostat. This effectively makes the thermostat permanently 'on' so the Hive can take over full control.

Alternatively, if you want to remove the old thermostat you can do this by tracing the thermostat cable back to its origin and disconnecting it. Then adding a wire link to join together the terminals you have just removed the two thermostat wires from

DO NOT DO THE ABOVE IF THERE ARE MORE THAN TWO WIRES AT THE OLD THERMOSTAT.

I am concerned that you presently have connected the EP backplate to a metallic surface that is unlikely to be electrically earthed. This is dangerous. Please don't put the Hive on it.

Thank you stem, all working like a clockwork. Existing room stat was the problem, joining two cables together solve the problem. Also thank you for the H&S advice.
