I moved into my current property about a year ago. I have a potterton kingfisher rs50 booiler. I have been having problems with my hot water system. If I switch on the hot water, I get the hot water however all the central heaters upstairs also heat up automatically. As it is warm weather now I don't need the heating. How can I have just the water on.

I had someone to come and have a look, although the plummer did not do anything (from what I saw) as he claimed to be not skilled in this type of boiler, I now have a new problem - the whole system does not seem to be working. I can't see any gas inside the boiler as I use to before, I don'e even know where the switch on/off button is for the boiler.

I have called up a few more plummers but no seems to be interested in this type of bolier.

As I don't have any idea about boilers I am also worried about plummers comming in and doing something, taking my money but not resolving my problem.

Can anyone help please, I am desperate.

One might ask where you found these "plumbers"?

The fault is a very simple controls problem and nothing to do with the boiler.

But one of these plumbers managed to turn off your boiler somehow.

Obviously you need to call someone who is competent!

One wonders why you apparently paid someone who did not fix the problem!

It seems there are several issues with you system, and as you don't seem to be very au fait with it, I'd suggest to forget finding out what the problem is.

Find a good breakdown specialist and put your trust in him. Ask all your friends, neighbours, colleages for recommendations of engineers that have REPAIRED their boiler.
Don't pay too much attention to "good" installs; it usually takes years before it becomes clear that an install wasn't that good, and even if it was, a good installer is not necessarily good at repairing.

as already mentioned not a boiler problem originally and possibly not even a control problem as it may be a gravity system
but now you have a seperate problem more than likely caused by one of your "plumbers"

Agile is in London give him a shout

.

You may find the heating flow has been fitted with a check/NRV , give it a clout with a hammer.
