Potterton Puma 80

While we're all being friendly and not understanding potty potty pumas, why is the fan for the puma 80 more expensive than the one for the 100, and can we use the 100 fan for either??

Same applies to Potty Prima fans iirc - bigger is cheaper.. :?

strange i dont know too much about prices as i never have to buy any parts :P
but i know you cant use a 100 on a 80 as the screws dont line up (tried it in desperation )
its nice when were all friendly dont you think season of good will and all that :D

For example the Lynx air flow element resistance is about 1.4 ohms
Lynx ® ?

Be aware that the "Lynx" ™ is owned by Lever Faberge and you might have heard that its a brand of men's deodourant !

the simple answer is that the boards are designed and mass produced with alot of extra resistors and cicuitry which is never used but it is apparently cheaper to leave them on than redisign the pcb without them ! i dont understand the logic behind that one myself but its the same with alot of pcbs :?

i personally just carry pilot pcbs and cut link 1 if i have to fit it to an electronic version as Raden is right is the only differance

God cant believe im agreeing with him on something thats a first

Well ...

Actually that's not correct with the current versions

There is circuitry in one corner on the electronic version which is missing on the PP version - which instead has a (220u (?)) capacitor

Agreed but wot extra does it need to do ? apart from run the fan at low speed :?

Well, I suppose I'm going to have to check it out and report back, aren't I

the 100 is considerably bigger and more powerful than the 80

Which reminds me - A merchant sent a Profile 100 fan back under warranty last week

... with a hole drilled in the plate to make it fit the 80 !!!!!!!!!!!

As we're all being nice, I won't say another word
