Hi, I've read loads of posts about problems with Suprima boilers and the PCB problem. I've got a boiler that been working fine for the last 4 or so years since I moved into the house. However over the last couple of months it's not been firing up and I've had the press the reset button and then all is OK. However pressing the reset button now causes the red light to go out for a couple of seconds, boiler makes a quick noise and the red light comes back on and all goes quiet. I've tried switching everything off for a while and trying again, but same problem.
Is this likely to be the PCB problem, or does it sound more serious? I've taken the PCB out and it looks like there may be some dry joints, but doesn't look too bad to my untrained eye. However some of the resistors have caused a small area of the surrounding PCB to be blackened... not sure if this is normal. Any advise would be great. PCB is dated 1998.
Thanks
