The Suprima boiler is 600X400x260. Can someone explain why with a total depth of 260 the service clearance is an additional 610. Presently have a Netaheat hanging on the wall where new boiler will go and its huge in comparison and has no problems with clearances for servicing. Am I missing the point somewhere ? Help please !

To allow the engineer to stand in front and look into boiler :?: just guessing :?

Nige has guessed right!

If the manufacturers did not say that then people would expect service engineers to mend boilers without any clearance.

Thanks guys. I guess they are referring to something like a wall; I don't think a wall cupboard within the 610 is a major problem as it could always be removed !

If you start boxing in a boiler look at the minimum clearances required and particularly what ventilation may be required.

Are you sure you wanna a Suprima - hav'nt you seen the other posts

suprima HE is a great boiler, nothing like the origonal........

make sure there is access to the right hand side, as the gas valves are realy awkward to get out on them....

Quote from the brochure "Tried and tested Potterton technology"

New circuit board design and additional new aluminium recuperator to scrape it into band B.

The old model was crap, what makes you think this will be any better?

cause, i work on alot of suprima's, old and he's. there is a LARGE estate of he's near me, and i have been out to VERY few, and most of those were handed back to the builders cause they were either zone valves or pumps...

i would be more than happy to have one in my own house....

From the Suprima brochure:

Suprima HE the new range thats reassuringly familiar.

The Suprima L was renowed for its unparalleled technology.

Its not me comparing the two. i was just quoting the Potterton brochure.

My interpretation of it is that Potterton are saying that the new Suprima HE is just as reliable as the old Suprima.

Just an observation
