Potterton suprima 80 - Does anyone have one of these boilers which constantly goes into lock out mode? Our plumber has found out pcb problems but Potterton denign this but have updated them - why?We are being asked to pay £250 for a call out charge by Potterton just to identify problem. Our plumber has tried everything else but did find out that over 10,000 pcb were faulty. Have written to Pottertons but got back a standard letter rejecting the claim. Having read some postings it would seem the pcbs have been a problem with other models too. Any suggestions please? Our boiler is only 4 years old.

Have a search around this forum...it has to be the most popular subject on here. Suprima boards are rubbish, the company won't accept it as the costs would be astronomical. All you can do is join everyone else in forking out the money to get the board changed and never buy from the company again....sorry.

the fee of £250 is not just to find out the problem this would also include all parts labour and VAT and in this case would include the pcb upgrade kit which sells for approx £180 + vat so would be good value for money also as boiler is under 5 years old you should be only paying maximum of £195-00 + vat and for a boiler thats 3 years out of warranty i think that is value for money

also pcb was change as manafacturer of one of the components on the old pcb stopped making the chipset needed ;)

Have you heard the latest the upgraded PCB is causing problems too. You may find that you have to change the fan to get it to work properly.

Isn't that just for the 100?, they have said for a long time that needs the fan done aswell....mind you for a board + fan + labour whats the point?, might as well get something decent put in.

More like a pirate if you think that its fair to expect people to replace fan and pcb for a manufacturer fault ;)

how can it be a manafacturing fault if there are thousands upon thousands of suprimas out there still with the old pcbs that are working fine its just simply a weak point of the suprima :)
the fact that it was the best selling boiler in the country for nearly 10 years says alot and thats the main reason you get alot of posts on this site about them simply because there are millions out there :p
