Power extension cable, switch the cable to other side?

All good now guys, managed to keep the cable “shortened” and “coming out via left side”.

I have kept the cable coming out via the right, with the cable tightly but safely tucked away by using hot glue, this has solved all the issues I had with this extension lead.

Thank you for your advice and help.

Sorry I have a head that makes me want to do these “wonderful” ideas. (Check my other posts lol)

All honesty thank you

Okay, so let me try and word it as best as I can with pictures.

I have a 4 way extension cable of 1m coming out of the extension block of sockets via the right side.
Sorry to be "pedantic" but
you have a 1m cable coming out of a "4 socket-outlet" strip - on the "Right" hand side, when the strip is horizontal with the Outlets in the normal UK orientation, with the Earth pins upwards.

I need the cable to come out of the left side, why? Limited space where this will be mounted, it can’t go upside down as the plugs that will go into it won’t.
While the plugs will go into the sockets, it may be that - with the Earth pin pointing down - the cable in each plug will exit upwards, which may be not that which you require.
I plan to unsolder the right hand side as looking at it, to the left. I have everything I need to do this and test. Just need someone to confirm the circuit is still being complete here. I am 99.9% sure

It is possible to do that which you propose.
However, for safety reasons, you will need to fashion a pair of access half-holes with a "Cord Clamp" on the "Left" hand side, similar to the existing clamp on the "Right" hand side (and fill the "Right" hand hole.)
The "Left" hand hole will need to be in-line with the Earth pin socket and not in the centre - since there is no room there.

After you file the two new "Left" hand half-holes, you will need to provide a "clamp", which you should be able to fashion out of several "blobs" of "epoxy resin" putty, stuck on the inside of the two halves of the Socket-Outlet strip and molded around the cable.
(This should be fairly easy to do if you attache the two "blobs" to the plastic, compress them around a wet piece of the cable, open the assembly and "squeeze in" the "putty" before it sets. If not tight enough as a "clamp" simply add an additional piece of spaghetti like "putty" to each inside of the "half-hole" after the original has set.)

(https://www.amazon.co.uk/Weld-8267-..._5?keywords=epoxy+putty&qid=1675570329&sr=8-5 is probably a good choice for the "putty".)

While the existing connections are "spot welded", it is quit easy to break these connection off,
strip the wires appropriately and
solder the conductors to the Line, Neutral and Earth "bars" within the "strip"

Drilling small holes in the "bars" may assist in this procedure and you will need to leave sufficient conductor length and route the conductors appropriately to 'bars" concerned.

The "bars" should be removed from proximity with the plastic while you solder, so that you do not melt the molded plastic.

Good Luck.

I have this type of plug, https://www.acadaptorsrus.co.uk/rep...ta-ac-dc-adapter-cp1220-power-supply-uk-plug/ it’s for a lamp*

I am unable to be changed it over to a regular plug as it has functions in the plug itself. Super annoying…

I have some cable caps so the wire being removed would be sealed - no idea where mum got them or where they are in the shed…

I have a 3d pen, that has allowed myself to make a few bits that help fix bits like adding a “clamp”

the plug isn’t what I have, it’s just to show why I can’t mount it any other way... at least I think, the lamp is on the other side of the room at the moment, I know it has a big plug like that shown. I can’t remember how I worked it all out now the extension cable is up, I threw the ideas, plans etc out with the recycling

worst thing about myself, I worry and over plan everything, from doctors to going to Tesco. But as soon as I have completed it, I have no idea what I brought or what the doctor said. Like, I didn’t remember I brought mushrooms, they have been in the fridge for about a month. I have the dish all cooked same day as I got all the ingredient. (A pork mushroom pasta bake)… which I may have tonight… it’s frozen so lasts about 3 months. But I guess there are no mushrooms in it…

sorry I have completely gone off topic here.

but the reason I need the plug extension where it is is due to space.… maybe it was Amazon Echo Flex was the reason why… I have no idea… I have also had very strong pain medication so I am a little high on morphine here. My leg is completely shot, to the point I am hinting at to my doctors to remove my right foot/above ankle and have a false foot/ankle. The said they will do this when I hit 45-50… back when I was 18… I am too young Born in 1988.
