Hi

We've recently moved into a house with an annex.

The main house and annex EACH have their own consumer unit.

The BT master socket is in the main house and the powerline adapters work fine in the main house.

But the powerline do not work in the annex. We've tried pairing them numerous times.

Any ideas?

Many thanks

They are designed to not work beyond the CU or meter so that you don't interfere with your neighbours.

They are horrible technology anyway; throw them away and install a wire.

On the plus side, you may get digital radio reception in the annex!

You should be able to get a WiFi repeater, that would then go on the main CU circuit, but as close to the annexe as possible, and it would then put out a wifi signal.

Alternatively, you'd need a cat 5 cable to go between the 2 buildings to connect the 2 circuits, but I don't know if the annexe would work as a cascade router system.

Thanks for the replies. I think we'll have to run a cable but we have very thick walls so it will be an interesting job.
