My Powermax boiler comes on during the night, any ideas?

Make sure the programmer is set for daytime operation only.

Yes set to daytime, strangly only happens at weekends.

Review your programmer settings carefully. As I recall they do have an alternative weekend setting facility, ie its a 5/2 day programmer.

The above and check the switch for timed/constant hot water.

If the times are ok, it's a dodgy clock. Usually the numbers start to fade or the select button sticks on etc. Great boiler you have btw. HTH.
