Powermax 155x - parts and repairs

Combispecialist.....sorry but you are talking rubbish. Manufacturer still provides fixes. In fact BG usually requests joint visits and prefers manufacturer to effect repairs.

As for the HE.......the only safety issues i am aware of are flueing ones and that is not a boiler issue per se.....usually a fitting issue

Please get your facts right

Didn't the early condensate collectors rot through? ;)

i wish.

sadly BG will not pay baxi to repair it if they can spend a million visits first. baxi will not give out information at all to BG about the powermax, and last time refused to turn up, they said if its over ten years they dont do it.

Can't comment on the original powermax 10 yr thing as as an engineer i just turn up and fix em but i am unaware of a 10yr rule but you could be right. However i still get sent to loads of original powermax's so we still repair em

Yep flue collector did rot. Changed free of charge by baxi....i should know i change enough of em but that is on the new ones not the old ones.

powell 30-not being funny mate but i work on powermax 155 and HE'S daily, when working wiv bg b4 i tried to arrange joint vist on powermax 155 10+ years old and baxi told me there and then WE WILL NOT DO JOINT VISITS ON ANY POWERMAX'S 10 YEARS OR OLDER.as for HE'S ive replaced van loads of probes for rectification issues, diverters always pass, water pressure sensor faults and p.c.b's at £300+ a pop just die.and then to really put the misery ionto customers i find loads of bottom assemblys leaking,£800+ for the part only.honestly i could write an essay on these.a very very unreliable boiler.safety????issue with design fault on condensate.....and now baxi have redesigned h-exchanger cos they had a safety issue with that and they've now said they will replace free off charge, dont say i dont know nothing bout powermax's,thats all i work on!!!!!!!!!!!!

The he version has no more safety issues than any other boiler. The giannoni heat ex is as reliable in this as the vaillant version is, in fact it's beter...the seals don't leak. The originals did have the design flaw of an ali flue collector but they haven't produced one in years.......

Won't argue with your comments on the original and can't say i can argue about reliability of the he but it IS NOT dangerous........

I've never know anyone dislike Worcesters! I'd have one anyday....

i dislike them, worcester love to make certain parts on their boilers a nightmare to replace. for example a Highflow heatbank or secondary heat exchanger!

the powermax is pretty unreliable, how many other boilers lock on on low pressure of 0.9 bar. if you have 1.3 bar to start with when the pump starts it drops the pressure to 0.9 bar and sometimes locks out on low pressure!
