Pressure Reducing Valves

In a new bathroom installation, I am fitting a bath mixer & a thermostatic shower.

According to the instructions, both of these work best with a reasonably balanced hot & cold pressure, (which might account for the temperature problems encountered with the old Aqualisa shower)

I have 7 bar cold & 2.5 bar hot pressure at the shower point.

Water is heated via a multi point hot water boiler, & cold is mains fed.

I am thinking of installing a Pressure Reducing Valve immediately after the main stop tap to try and reduce the difference in pressures.

Has anyone any experience of these valves?

I cant seem to find too much info on here. Valves seem to vary quite a lot in price.

you also have option of pressure equalising valve at the shower itself.
