I've seen in the Building Forum people quoting £1000/mtr for a basic build.

Is there similar for a new roof?

I've had a quote for a new roof. Everything from the gutters/wallplate up, so new gutters, facials, larger rafters, hips, steel ridge beam, wall built to hold ridge beam, 5.6 x 3.3 x 2.0 dormer, double romans, scaffold with its own roof, Total area (if flat) would be 77sq/mtr.

Nothing on the inside.

I've only had the 1.

2 guys didn't turn up, 1 decided it was too big of a job. But I get what your saying, 'get a couple more quotes' (y)

Put a tent on your wall plate, that's the cheap way:D

It's been 1k per metre for an extension for the last 20 years! Just gradually it became without carpet, without decorating, only single pendant and rad, then to first fix, then it was plus vat, then you only get a shell, and eventually it only applies to the north east and if the foundations are already in and a flat roof cash only:LOL:

Everyone told us it was 1.5k here but it didn't stop all the quotes coming in triple that (plenty of steels and other changes that didn't add any floor area)

I've told this guy to go ahead so the scaffold will be coming 13th/14th of this month.

It's more than I expected but it's a big roof and it's all going to be new so it's an investment really.
