Problem with 2 way light circuit

Hi,

Sorry in advance if this has been covered or not relevant, I’m new here.

I have a UK two-way switched hallway lighting circuit with two ceiling roses. I’ve successfully converted the first light to a modern fitting using Wago connectors. The second ceiling rose only has:

• 1 twin & earth cable (brown, blue, earth)
• 1 single brown conductor with earth
• 1 single blue conductor

The original ceiling rose had two browns together, two blues together, and no obvious wire in the L terminal. If I connect the two browns to the new light’s L terminal, the light is permanently on, while the first hallway light still switches normally.

Can anyone guide me in the right direction?

What wires do you have at the other light, before and after pics of the other light may help.

This is the other ceiling rose. I was able to get this one working because I can see there’s one brown in the live terminal. So I must be missing something with the second one. I just don’t understand how there’s only 2 brown and they’re both in the loop terminal…

It's somewhat different to normal.

Did those 2 lights work together before you started?

Where was the brown of the light connected? A or B I assume the blue was connected in the very top terminal

As things are I suspect you have mixed up 2 of the browns


EDIT: Did you check correct functionality after changing the first light but before changing the second?
EDIT2: Is there any chance these 2 lights were originally not a pair of lights on 2 way switches, I.E. 2 one way switched lights?

Before you do, does that light work as you expect it to. Can you switch it on and off in any combination from both switches?

Should both lights go on and off together?
