Can any one please help me with this.

The car fires up fine first time on a cold morning, but soon dies. It's difficult to start the engine again. This problem goes away when the engine warms up.

Its a ford mondeo L reg 1.6 DOHC. I have replaced the spark plugs and air filter thinking that this might cure it but it has not.

problem could be oil related.old gungy oil or incorrect grade will affect hydraulic tappets, reducing valve clearances so valves will not close properly for first few minutes.Remedy is change oil & filter making shure of using correct grade of oil.(5-40 synthetic) Check in book.

pipe, I think you might find it's 5w-30. You are right saying gungy or wrong grade causes problems.
