Pubs to visit on holiday!

The Bluebell Inn.
Tattershall Thorpe, Lincolnshire.

For anyone with an interest in Second World War bombers, especially Lancasters. Old oak beams with wartime pilots pennies wedged in them for when they come back off a sortie. The ceiling signed by both old and latter day pilots. Absolutely brilliant food, (not standard pub grub), all fresh local produce and cooked on the premises. No TV, slot machines, juke box or games machines allowed.

Sean & Shirley, the owners are splendid hosts and will answer any questions you may have regarding the planes, pilots, famous visitors and the history of the pub. And the locals are very friendly as well, which is nice.

Thoroughly recommend it!

:D :D :D

(Oh, and you have to taste their Thwaites Draught Lancaster bitter! Its a must! )

When I was in the RAF, our usual Saturday outing was to The Plough in Shrewsbury. There was literally not an inch of wall or ceiling space that wasn't covered with 'memorabilia' left there by members of all three armed services.

Then it was taken over by someone and everything removed. It became rather boring after that.
