Hi guys,

Looking for some help if possible, bought a new pull cord as the current one had a split in in.

I noted what wires went into what position and put them all in the same place in the new casing. Now the light won't turn off, when I pull the cord it does click like it would to turn on/off but nothing happens.

The set up is;
COM
L1
L2

There are 2 black, 2 brown and 2 grey wires.

It is wired as;
COM - Black
L1 - Brown
L2 - Grey

Any help would be hugely appreciated.

Thanks

Unless the new switch is faulty, (which it could be - so checking it with a multimeter would be a good idea), what's happened (and this is far more likely) is that you have NOT wired it up like the old one was.

Are you sure that they were both labelled COM, L1 & L2?

Plus the cables seem odd - is there a fan?

Yes there is a fan as well, forgot to mention that!

The old and new one are both COM L1 and L2

Was there plenty or room for the wires in the pattress or did you have to force the switch to it, sometimes if the wires cause the switch to bow when you screw it up, it makes it jam mechanically on or off evn though you can still hear a click. Try slackening the screws off.
