Hi

I've arranged for a spark to put a few sockets into our conservatory which is currently being built. I understood that this has to be done after foundations and wall are built so put spark on standby etc. However, because we are having the walls plastered the builder has said that the sockets can be fitted at any time.

Is this correct? (thought the work still needed to be done sooner rather than later)

Many thanks

If you have a spark on stand by get him round to have a look, if someone asked me to wire a conny I would have a look first and tie in with the builder

Many thanks

Just got confused due to builder implying that timing of spark work would be less critical if walls were plastered. Couldn't get my head around that1

If the walls are to be left as bare brick, normally the cables would be installed into conduits in the cavity between the two walls, therefore essential that this is done immediately after the walls are built.

If the walls are plastered, cables would be attached to the surface and plastered over, therefore could be done at any time prior to plastering.

Ideally the electrician should come in as soon as the brick base is built, and before the floor is screeded. Before the window sills are fitted may be helpful too.

Many thanks

This is really clear and helpful. Apols for posting in wrong area but thought it was six of one and half a dozen of another so to speak!

Cheers
