I have an Pyronix Enforcer (V10) with all inputs and bells being wireless so nothing hard wired.

Recently purchased a "Car defender" which I've successfully configured for "Area C", this area is dedicated solely to the Car Defender and contains no other inputs.

The car defender works great, when "Area C" goes into alarm it sounds both the internal sounder and external sirens but I'd prefer just the external bells to sound.

Use Level Set is set to "Yes" so I can only set the selected area at any one time
Wireless bells is set to "Sirens any"
Alarm response for Area C is set to START= bells only, STOP = Confirmed

Any pointers as to what I'm missing or if what I want is even possible would be greatly appreciated

Responding to this during a period of random insomnia so others may be able to contribute a way around what your trying to do, but, what your trying to do isn’t possible through the alarm response settings. Let me explain why.

Alarm response works on a hierarchal stepped escalation every 15 seconds. The hierarchy order is

0 keypads
1 internal sounders
2 sirens only
3 digi

If you START at 0 and end at 3 then 0 will be instant, 1 15 seconds later, 2 15 seconds later then finally 3 15 seconds later.

Your choice of starting at 2 doesn’t however meant it starts simply at 2 but rather it means it starts with 2 and includes 1 and 0 as part of the lower points in the hierarchy.

The only way I can think just now (on minimum sleep) is that you could disable the internal sounded overall, but, this would affect all sets.

Thanks for your input, so the alarm response START simply changes the order in which options 0 to 3 are actioned (but all cycled through regardless of the start point).

Having tried multiple permutations of alarm response actions it does seem to just cycle through all of them as you describe, which leaves me thinking what’s the purpose the STOP action

No, not quite. It removes the 15 second delay for anything beneath the start entry chosen so multiple options trigger at once.

The stop also still has its place. You could start and stop at 1 and all you would get is keypads and internal sounders.

Thanks, I think I’m starting to get an understanding of how the alarm responses work now.

I’ll go and have another play with them to try get my head around their function and use

Thanks for the help, much appreciated.
