No, when I got the system the IO board wasn't connected to the front panel and I set up the system fine but without a bellbox . ( no ladder) The IO board, only has 2 wires to COMmon and 12V+. Thanks.

Thanks for the help so far. I think I may have a faulty IO board. I'll have one last go at attaching it without any wiring to the bell and see if the system starts normally. One question on the Deltabell WE, can I move the jumper (so the comfort Leds come on) without unplugging the batteries? Still no ladder! Lot of leaning out of bedroom window!

Alarm now working. Thanks for the help. IO board seems OK after all:,I powered the system down (again) removed panel battery( again) made sure IO board was securely plugged into front of panel and removed the two wires to the bell. Then powered up. No Comms issues. Then powered down, but not the panel battery, then re attached wires to power bell box. Powered up, no Comms issues.
