Hi all,

I'm having problems with my Pyronix Enforcer connecting to the wifi, I've gone through all manuals and instructional videos and I'm coming up short. We have Virgin broadband but I have a BT Whole Home system which takes over wifi duties.

The system was working OK but has been disconnected for a while, it still works as an alarm but the cloud and mobile app are obviously not working.

When going in to the menu, I've tried both set up options:

1) Manual - I've tried both the Whole Home and Virgin wifi set ups and double/triple checked the details are correct. Signal Strength doesn't show anything at all! There is a wifi disc about 5m away from the panel so it's not distance.

2) Automatic (Smart Device), tried this and got to the 192.168.0.1 menu, chose BT Whole Home and it stalled, tried to go again but now the network doesn't even show to connect!

Banging my head against the wall here!

Any help would be much appreciated.

Kind regards,

Simon

Can you try setting up a wifi hotspot on your phone and try connecting it to that? - to rule out any issue with the wifi in the panel (may need a hard reset)

The Pyronix can only do 2.4ghz "n" wifi, and i have had issues in the past with my old wifi setup around having both 2.4 and 5ghz on the same SSID..
And ive also had issues with the 2.4ghz channel being set higher than 11.

Hi, thanks for the reply.

Funnily enough I found an old thread referencing issues with 5g and channels. I've since changed the wifi settings to 2.4ghz only and stuck it on manual channel 6. Still no luck. There appears to be an issue with the wifi in the panel itself. I'll go and try with a hotspot now and report back.

@MisterG81 just tried with a mobile hotspot from my phone and still nothing. If I do a hard reset does that mean I have to go through the entire set up again with new alarm code and users?

Take front off via the two small pozi screws at the bottom , open the battery compartment, again 1 small pozi disconnect the battery for 30s , now power back up

Is your subscription up to date, 1st year free only(disconnected for a while)?

Have you changed the wifi details?

if you need to check this may help

no but you can see how the wifi is performing when connected ? had a few reactivations, some been off for over 6 months and changed routers only to find subscription has expired a few months ago.

Thanks both.

My subscription had ended a couple of months ago but I renewed it. The resetting of the system seems to have worked a treat! I'm now reconnected and can use the app properly.

I did forget that alarms have an anti tampering feature and frightened the life out of my better half lol
