Reported that Bovis homes cut a few corners to reach sales targets with the result that some properties needed more than a little remedial works.

This must be that new-fangled thin-bed technique!

Oh dear! Although presumably those bricks have been cut out for whatever reason and not yet replaced, rather then it being handed over finished!

It makes you wonder at their building methods. Most brickies build upwards, not along the wall. I'd have loved to watch them at work. It turns out they've set aside £7m to do all the repairs and compensation; which makes you wonder just how many properties they screwed up.

I'm trying to figure out what was the design/build problem to the tying-in of the front elevation block-work to the side elevation brickwork? Perhaps the problem is a long south facing side elevation brick façade and there is the need for an expansion joint rather than a more solid connection?

Dunno - baffled.
