I have a new under counter tumble dryer which sticks out more at the back that the last and now touches the plug in its current position. To allow the machine to go fully under the counter it needs a socket about 6 inches horizontally from the current one. I know the wiring to the current socket is vertical to a isolator switch (which does not have an obvious fuse) above the counter.

I know this is notifiable work (and no chance I would be doing it anyway), but query if this is possible without falling foul of requirements I understand exist for wires in different directions, etc. Obviously no problem for work under the counter or leaving the current socket or replacing it with a blanking plate because its all hidden behind the dryer anyway.

Many thanks Drew

Many thanks, sounds worth investigating this with a local electrician.
