Hi there everyone:

I'm a guy who just got interested lately (like only 3 months ago) in DIY. I have previously not even grabbed a tool in my whole life!!! so please wish me luck, and take it easy on me if my questions are a little dumb.

I have a quirky little project I'm doing now: I want to connect my stereo system which uses 2 regular size batteries to a socket in the house (call it an attempt at a makeshift surround system because I'm also adding speakers) how do I manage that? can anyone please help?

well if it uses batteries to power it and you want to run it from the mains you will need a power supply / transformer to change the mains to the battery voltage

Thank you for your help, I certainly will try that, but I just wanted to make sure how to go about it without getting fried. Thanks again. :D

And it`ll need to be a Direct Current low voltage

if you look around for a transformer phone chargers etc
check the wattage is same, cut off the jack (with the juice off) and solder + and - to the correct terminals on the appliance

adding speakers probably need an amp ???
