a lot of the designer rads are full of shyte from new and should be thoroughly flushed before fitting , hose alternately into all 4 tappings to allow for baffles . The water comes out absolutely filthy
Still waiting for an answer, they replied to ask for photos - which I then provided but no reply since (weekend though) - I'll update once (if) I do get a proper reply.
To be fair on the company, after sending the photos there was a few days delay and then the next I knew was a delivery notification coming through saying that my radiator would be delivered on Friday (today) - so it looks like they've just decided to send a replacement out. It should arrive later today.
I'm not sure that it will last any longer than 3 years again though as I think it is a quality issue.
Can anything be done to help extend the life of this one?
Is it worth putting more inhibitor in the header tank? Or will the last dosage from 3 years ago be sufficient.
Should I do anything elsewhere in the system? I'm just worried that if this one is rusting from the inside, that the bits will be flowing round the system.
If the previous rad rusted and/or bubbled through that quickly then it was probably down to a flaw in the casting/poor quality steel.
You won't know if the new one has that until it appears. All you can do is get your installer to flush the rad properly and then make sure your system is properly inhibited.
