I am starting to build a new home in 2 months. I am heating the whole house with ufh. It is a very open concept design. I want to know, can I lay real hardwood on the radiant floor without issues and tile beside it in the kitchen with out a significant height difference? I am worried of the wood shrinking and expanding. How do you install the hardwood to the cement floor?. (Piping is being laid on the decking and 2 inches of concrete over)
Regards, Ben

Hi Ben in Canada
See ******************** for best wood flooring types on UFH, but not sure if systems are the same where you are?

Check out **************- guide on UFH, it has links to swedish flooring trade association and their advice about UFH. Its a 48 page guide in english about all the heating systems and all the installation methods and is the best info I have found. Read the info on ****************as well as hardwood floors over underfloor heating are a mine field and you will have to look after the floor (control the environment) constantly.
Hope this helps
