Radiator - 3 Feeds

We’re recently moved in to a new house, and we have quite a mixture of radiator configurations.

What’s this setup? 2 feeds on the left and lockshield in the right.

Is there a reason to setup this way? Haven’t come across it before.

I’m assuming 1 flow and 2 return.

Old 8mm microbore twin entry valve would be original the return relied on a short length of flexible copper pushed into rad.
They regularly blocked up! looks like someone fitted a proper return to make it work.

Thanks. Sounds very plausible. Got some history to undo here at some point, but all working for now!
