Hi to all :), this is my first post - hope it's in the right place.......

I'm in the process of installing new radiators with TRV's - I don't know what the usual practice is when it comes to using radiator covers

- are the TRV's completely housed within the covers - if so, how are the TRV's accessed if adjustment is required?

- or, are they left exposed by cutting a slot in the cover so that just the radiator alone is covered?

Sorry if this sounds like a dumb question.

Regards, Lemardes

You don't use standard TRV's. If the head is enclosed in the cover it won't sense the room temperature particulary well.

Use valves with either remote sensors or adjustable remote sensors.

The sensor head is then located outside the radiator cover.

See Danfoss, Drayton or Honeywell websites for details. I looked into this a few years ago for a customer. After seeing the cost of them they gave up on the idea.
