Is it a bad idea to position a rad opposite a window?

Or is that an old wives tale?

In my case, I've got a rad opposite french doors (timber, 4-6-4 double glazed, well draft proofed).

Is that ok, or should I try to reposition it?!

Thanks!

I understand the theory - of cold feet... but there's not another place in the room that's so convenient.

Is the bottom line 'icing on the cake' or serious problem?!

At the moment the room is freezing because the french doors have just been installed and aren't finished and cold air can get under the frame.

Brr....
