A novice can hang and pipe up the new radiator but if you have several radiators that need exchanging consider letting a heating installer do it,make your life easy

the last rad I took off the black rod fell into rad.

just when you on ianmcd, the last rad I took off the black rod fell into rad.

so there is not point putting it back on as it will not work is that correct?

yes that is correct the water will just circulate around the valve inlet and outlet

Got room plastered - great job.

Going to hang old radiators back on again as I got black rod out of the one it fell into!!

Will this radiator just fill back up with water again?

Also as the walls are now stud I got the anchor screws for the brackets and advice how to hung the radiators? do I just lie it flat as close to valve connections and measure the 3 brackets then replicate onto the wall?
