Hi, I have a 4 yr old Rangemaster gas cooker. When I hold down the control knob for the grill it lights but when I release it it immediately goes out. It will work if i wedge the knob down but this is not ideal. Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers

Chances are the thermocouple has gone

This is a safety device to cut off the gas if the flame goes out so it's generally not a good idea when it fails to wedge the knob down as if the flame goes out the gas won't be cut

Simple to replace , just copy how the old one is fitted

Cant say how easy/difficult it is to do on a rangemaster as I've never done one

Will you be fixing the range master yourself or fo you plan to get in a gas Safe engineer?

Thank you so much for finding the time to answer my question. I will order the part and have a look at fitting it myself if is not too difficult.

The one I linked to might not be the one for your grill, thought I better mention that!
