Rayburn 480k - trips electrics

Don't forget that it is possible to become a "registered electrician" without ever having replaced a CU. This might be his first time.

Love how he (she) has used a cable clip to fix the capping to the wall :). Does smack of My First CU, at least the cables are marked up. OP- you might want to suggest to the 'electrician' when it returns that they move the CU away from the ceiling and wall (50mm would make life a lot easier in the future).

Electrician is the one that our builder recommended and uses. He’s actually 65 and been an electrician all his working life!

Yes, the work is still in progress. I think the new CU was installed sooner that it would have been because the old one sustained some accidental damage by builder and he felt it was unsafe.

Thank you everyone for all of your comments. It’s given us a lot to think about as well as some things to go on to hopefully solve the problem.
