Yes they are suitable, you would just look at the disconnection curve at 0.4s as opposed to 5s which you would look at for inside the house.

I take it you will just be doing the laymans bit of this i.e. digging the trench and having an electrician put it in? I would advise against doing this particular job yourself without the necessary tools to test it and make sure it is safe.
