Ive linked a frost stat on a Baxi Duo Tech 40, and i set it to 5*.
Now the weather is freezing obviously the boiler will kick in until the temp reaches 5*, to protect the boiler.....But what is the optimum temp setting thats gonna give protection and not keep cycling the boiler on off every 2 minutes??
The boiler is located in the garage?
Any advice?

As londonboy says, you should have fitted a pipe stat as well,or you may find the house is sweltering as the temp in the garage falls below 5* and stays there,as there is nothing to heat the garage, and satisfy the frost stat.

I only fitted a room stat in living area & frost stat in garage.
I'll fit a pipe stat also, but how should i link it into the controls?

controls Fitted
Salus prog EP101 - volt free

It would be wired in after the frost stat i believe on this.,

Therefore, if the frost stat wasnt satisfied, but the pipe stat was, then nothing would happen and vice versa. But, if the frost stat made, and also the pipe stat made becuase it was too cold, then it would fire up.

Perm live - frost stat - pipe stat - boiler

The pipe stat is wired in series with the frost stat.

I.e 'call for heat' = common of pipe stat.

Call for heat (at pipe stat) = call for heat at the programmer.

Thanks fellas 4 ur input, makes sense!
Any questions i'll be giving u a bell!!!!!
