Hi, My Powermax 155x has just stoped working. The burner light isn't coming on and the lock out light is now on. I have switched it off and tried to get the burner to try and light itself up again but to no avail. I have no hot water or heating and I have a baby in the house. ANY SUGGESTIONS... CAN ANYONE OUT THERE HELP ME PLS???!!!

There are two overheat reset buttons on this appliance . To reset , remove top of boiler decorative panel . look for for small red button ,press to reset . Alternativeley google baxi parts arena and download installation instructions , look for fault finding page ,go from there .If no joy , you need to have someone who is familiar with this type of appliance to effect a repair .British Gas , and Baxi Heat-team , offer a fixed price guaranteed repair service ,hope this is of help to you .

Thank you so much for replying. I just wanted to clarify if Im removing the top panel on the front of the boiler or the top? and do you know exactly whatthe red buttons look like coz the ones that ive seen have like a cross in the middle but dont seem to go in when i press them.

If simple owner actions will not clear the problem the normal solution is to call a boiler engineer who is familiar with that model.

Hi there,
I called Heat team this morning and they said that they could only send out an engineer on Thursday but because I have a baby in the house I decided to call a local company that said they would send someone out in an hour at 38 pounds /half hour which i said was ok thinking that it would just be a small job. Having looked at the boiler he said that there were two problems and would need new parts that will cost 248 pounds plus i will have to pay labour at the above rate. Anyway to cut the long story short i paid 558 pounds this morning. Boiler worked for about an hour and burner went off again. I called him back again, he had a look at it and said it was working ok but if burner went off again, i should turn off main switch and put it on again and the burner should light up BUT he thinks that i may need a new ignition pad and will need to get the boiler fully serviced. He left....15 minutes later the burner went off again. I have called the company back and they say that he will be back again tonight but Im so frustrated. I have paid almost 600 pounds to fix a boiler but its still faulty.....does anyone have any ideas on what I can do? I feel that Im being scammed here! I feel I should have just waited for Heat team to come on Thursday...that would have just cost me £250 rather than £580...pls help any ideas??

Suggest you put a woolly on, spend a few pounds on a couple of heaters and wait for someone who knows what they're doing. Don't worry about the baby, haven't met one who was short of clothes yet!

So what happens to my money? Can i ask for a refund? The company is supposed to be CORGI registered......

starfish, since you're in London it's likely that one of the people who've given you advice may cover your area. If you could indicate your postcode we might be able to put you in touch with a good engineer.

I don't think Agile extends that far east. Anyone know someone covering E14? Sorry, worth a try anyway.

Well this engineer claims that he has worked on many of these boilers in my development and knows how to work them inside out plus he is CORGI so i thought he would know what he is doing.

As a kinowledgeable engineer on this kind of boiler do you have any ideas on what may be wrong with it and what i can do to fix it?

For my interest could Starfish email me ( from my profile ) with the name of the firm that you engaged.

It helps me know who to recommend ( or not ).
