reboard the roof leaving the old felt on

old felt roof on a garage extension is knackered the roofer that came to examine the felt roof didnt do epdm but measured job up for me and states he knows someone that does this work .Anyway been offered to have epdm replacement when asked about job involved he states
"what he does is reboard the roof leaving the old felt on for a better finish then applies the rubber to the roof" any advice on this ?

If the roof is knackered as you say, then its best to strip it back to the joists and re-board.

think i will wait to get some more qoutes upto now for a roof 6 6 x 13 1 been qouted £4000 for a reboarding insulation fitted then rubberbond on top!! wtf!!! to £650 reboard over old felt then epdm fitted, he hasnt even came to view the job yet lol.

new quote recieved today
take off old guttering skipping all waste
noggin out and fit new18mill ply board fitted flush down from fasia board to allow up stand to rubber epdm.supply and fit new interlocking moisture resistant interlocking treated osb boards to full flat roof deck .supply and fit new treated osb board fitted raised para pit all cut to suite ready for rubber epdm to suite.fit new firestone epdm @ 8 metres x 3 metres in one section.fit new stand up trims to suite.supply new drip trim to suite.fit new rubber edpm witches to soil pipe.fit new fascia and guttering to suite.
total £1620.00 materials and labour.
Any opinions on the above would be appreciated
