Ali the point is that although spending this money to advertise there is not a shortage of applicants, but a shortage of decent, qualified engineers that CAN ACTUALLY DO THE JOB.

Nigel, yes we have Sussex pretty well managed, but we are of course open to any offers

a tip from me bdl will go along way, If you where to pay the right rates to attract decent enginners you would have no trouble in getting your recruitments, but sorry to say that decent gas engineers are like wise old owls and know the pittfalls and corruption in this game and would not be so easily tempted into this dark cave full of bats.

Blob you are making wild accusations again, you do not know what we are paying our engineers. Unfortunately it is normally a pre requisite that our engineers can string a logical sentence along prior to applying. Sorry but you have failed.

Oh and a final point, we use quality equipment especially analysers, they are calibrated on time and checked weekly. I hear you are looking for a CHEAP one which will never be calibrated, do you know how to intepret the results from such an appliance? please post your comments- I look forward to some light entertainment!

Just out of interest as you really do intrigue me- do you have Professional Indemnity insurance? (This is not public liability insurance)

Ju]

CO/CO2
BELOW 0.004 IS OK
BETWEEN O.004 - 0.008 = INVESTIGATION
ABOVE 0.008 MUST BE CLEANED

CO LEVEL IN THE FLUE IS ABOVE 100PPM THEN INVESTIGATE

02 LEVELS SHOULD BE 3-5% ANY OTHER READINGS SUGEST INEFFECTIVE USE OF ENERGY

FLUE TEMP SHOULD NOT RISE ABOVE 200 DEGREES C

NOW YOU EXPLAIN TO ME HOW TO TAKE A READING OFF A GAS FIRE AND A ROOM.

where as he gone ...............

getting is books out i persume. :)

No Blob, not getting my books out.

Waiting for you to answer the question?

question aswered dont you understand the answer you asked me what a analyzer readings mean

and i asked you a question which you cant answer because you are a pen pusher and have little understanding over that what you have picked up from your engineers you employ SAID BOB

Blob I do find some of your postings slightly disturbing. Were you abused by a gas engineer when you were a child?

" NOW YOU EXPLAIN TO ME HOW TO TAKE A READING OFF A GAS FIRE AND A ROOM"

I am not sure how to take a reading from a room? I didn't know it was possible. I have never seen a room that was flued?

Anyway, I am a pen pusher?

Ok, I can live with that, actually you have gone and made another wild accusation without learning the facts.

Please read my question slowly, maybe it will sink in soon. I asked you "how would you interpret the results". Not what the permissable ranges were.

Blob speak to you later. A little hint though- Interpret will be in the dictionary under "I" probably near Intellect.

P.s. Not bad for a pen pusher.

3 Year apprenticeship with British Gas South Eastern

6 years with British Gas as an engineer

4 years as an engineer with a major boiler manufacturer

2 years as a senior technical engineer for a major boiler manufacturer

3 years running my own successful Gas boiler service/repair company.

Now your turn Tiger!!!!

Be back later to give you a little time.

ok i will teach the novice

open flued gas fire

place probe into outlet duct of a balanced flue or in the secondery flue of open flued appliance.
place probe 6 inch into flue and it must be running for at least 10 mins before taking measurement.,
after a min readings can be taken

a room:-

switch analyzer on outdoors first and let it zero then take it in
if the co levels above 9ppm investigate and if above 35 ppm immediate action open windows and doors switch off isolation valves on any appliance.

a room test should be made after checking each appliance.

the lower the temp for a given 02 or co2 reading then the lower the heat loss up the chimney and therfore the higher the combustion efficiancy.

welll all that did not learn you much hee heee hee

Oh I see, you wanted to test a room for products of combustion from a gas appliance? I read your post how you wrote it? silly me. I was wondering how you test a room with your analyser. Silly me.

Actually do you think a flue gas analyser is the correct piece of kit to carry out this test?

If you try and take a combustion reading off a lfe fire your flue gas analyser will have to be cheap as you will be getting through one per job.

you seem to be giving hints to other possible hints to accomplice this but yet not answered anything your self are you another b..ull sh..itter

this kit would be handy if co detectors wernt fitted

and yes this would be suitable to carry out these test and if you say other wise it just proves to me your has said discription

Yawn, Blob go and stick your head in a gas fire and turn it on.

Your posts are boring, you are so keen to try and prove you know what you are doing. This suggests to me that really you do not have a clue!!!

Let me give you an example. An easy one for a person with your talents.

2 12k thermisters fitted to a Combi boiler, you have dhw problems. i.e. water not getting hot, you have checked the plate heat exchanger, you have checked the diverter valve is not letting by. You have even managed to check the gas pressure is correct.

The central heating works perfectly, it is just the hot water. How are you going to check the thermister is working correctly?

(A clue, your cheap and nasty analyser probably won't help you)

Over to you Blob.
