hi at the moment we've got a boiler thats gone blinkers and needs replacing.

we've got a good vaillant boiler from a previous fitting which is a combi

would we able to replace the boiler with the combi but not use the radiator aspect of it?

2ndly the wall bracket went walkies i managed to get a part number from vaillant themselves

however whilst speaking to a plumber he mentioned the bracket that was missing was quite expensive but the prices on the net dictate otherwise... and not just by a few quid either. i've seen it on sites from 30-60 quid and he was mentioning a few hundred....

or would it just be better to get a new boiler and get that fitted? if so what would you guys recommend?

she previously had a worcester WR 325 BF which lasted her the wonderfully long time of 5 yrs :( so something reliable would be nice.

And the Vaillant boiler is a?

the vaillant is a combi boiler

You asked for that

A white one?

A Baxi platinum comes with 5 year parts and labour warranty. Costs vary, between installers due to trade discounts, and %ages added; but if you look at boilers online and find a cheap price, don't forget to add in the cost of the flue, time clock, thermostat, copper tube, fittings, filling loop, mini expansion vessel, pressure reducing valve, drain taps, condensate waste, pipe insulation, earth clamps, cable, screws, clips, plugs, silicones, an odd brick maybe, sand & cement, consumable tools, gas, solder, flux, wear on a diamond core, diesel, insurance, registration costs, bugarance, spanner rash and profit.........etc

If you choose to supply the materials, think about the above; not like one short lived customer that I turned up for, with his internet boiler in a box, and nothing else; and at that, it was system boiler, not a combi.

Did the installer that quoted you 'hundreds' think he was removing a boiler, replacing the jig/bracket and then refitting the boiler? Did his price include to hang the boiler?
You will need to have a flow and return from the boiler on the heating side to be pressurised, to get hot water.

I prefer Baxi boilers, but id be sure others will also have a preference, and may even have their own opinion on Baxi.

sorry did u want the combi model?? i'll get it for u

the quote was for that part - not fitting it. that would be ontop
