Nigel Farage says: “I do not want NHS to be funded through taxation”

A vote for Reform is a vote for a privatised health system.

The best hospitals I’ve been in have all been private ones. No waiting, treated like a human, own room and private facilities, a comprehensive meal menu, tea, coffee and soft drinks at the press of a bell, strong WiFi. What’s not to like about that?

There are massive problems all over the West without easy solutions. But it is extremely complex. Nobody truly seems to know why there is so much discontent. Stopping the small boats won't actually make anyone any happier. In the same way that most of the people who voted for Brexit are much angrier than they were before the Referendum. It didn't make them happy like they thought it would, so they moved onto other things.

We are on track for a really bad year and it costs a fortune.

That’s just Notch….

Its really quite simple. You cannot know how wealthy a pensioner is based on their income. Some have very high care costs, which wipe out most or more than their net pension and some have none. If you set the bar at those paying the additional rate of tax say £126k pensions pa, you exclude ~5% of those over 65 ~500k people. These people assuming they are just on the limit are paying 43k a year in income tax. Does it really matter that a few £100 comes back to them? It's unlikely that they suddenly got rich as pensioners, so I suspect during their lifetime they have paid millions in to the system.
You're trying very hard the avoid the word "extra."

feel free to interpret my reply as saying it doesn't matter if few extra quid comes back to those pensioners who have already paid loads of tax and continue to do so.

"And should an "extra" £300 be paid to everybody as an "extra?" That is defined as an "extra" to help people who can't afford to pay for winter fuel? But only if they are old?"

Nobody seriously believes that it should.

As a tradesman, £300 is easily gained by a bit of overtime or a guvvy job. An 80 year old pensioner with no savings does not have that opportunity and that £300 could actually be a massive help to them. I wouldn't begrudge it in those circumstances.

the fancy reception and the soft chairs are for show

the consultants are mostly NHS trained and are still working for the NHS

private care largely only does elective surgery, it doesnt cover emergency care and it doesnt do complex or specialized treatments and for specific conditions.

What’s not to like about that?
nothing wrong with it for people that can afford it, Im sure Nigel Farage can afford to have excellent cover

in America 600,000 people go bankrupt due to medical bills every year
people in America often have to choose between having enough meds or hospital procedures or re mortgaging their house.

Do you want that here?
Nigel Farage does
