Reform did well. Again.

thankfully he hasn't publicly declared an interest in being the Pope yet

Maybe the Reform result is a good thing.
Reforms performance in local government may give the public an indication of exactly what Reform stands for and what to expect in the event of a government run by Nigel Farage and Reform.

Reform have 5 MPs

Just 5
Mighty oaks from little acorns grow…..

About time you faced real facts. It was more than a protest vote. Don't just take my word for it. The man himself says so.

I would have voted Reform, as a protest vote, but we had no Council election here. Keir has had more than ample opportunity to deal with the boats, and done nothing much effective, at all. People vote on results. Keir has done nothing useful, but in the process upset a lot of voters.

Maybe, we will see. Isn't that what all politicians do, listen, make promises, then do nowt? What has Keir done, that he promised?
You can spot folk who watch GBnews and read the Daily M. by the answer they give to 'what is the most pressing issue of the day?', when they answer 'illegal migrants' or 'immigration'.
(I don't think it is. Obviously.)
However, public perception is key to winning any election and Farage has maintained that narrative successfully thanks to GBnews and the DM repeating the storyline persistently. Labour has to keep a lid on that issue and find a way to reduce the numbers of illegal migrants entering the country, irrespective of how he deals with them once they're here. Elections are, generally, won or lost on the state of the economy and if he hasn't improved either issue in the next three years then Labour are heading for a one term parliament and only a Tory pact with Reform can save them from obscurity...or another change of leader. Kemi is bad enough to rate as one of their worst opposition leaders since IDS.

It that the same John Curtice who said local elections are not a predictor of national elections? …..oh yes that’s right, he is.

Hey Mottie,

Farage was the man behind Vote Leave that sold you sunlit uplands.
Farage is now behind Reform who is selling you sunlit uplands.

Has Mottie never heard the expression: “"Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me" ”

They say a picture paints a thousand words.
But not on this occasion.
The only words it expresses is "I don't have the intelligence to debate the subject with you".
I very much doubt if the typical right winger could express themselves with a thousand words.
They have typically stated that they are incapable of reading more than about 100 without losing interest and falling asleep. So they refuse to read anything that requires any degree of thought processes.

The economy didn't figure highly in the Brexit vote.
Nigel Farage is identified with the immigration issue, most Reform supporters don't really know what else Nigel stands for.
The problem with Nigel is his lack of originality, he just parrots Donald Trumps ideas.

I am coming to the conclusion that right wingers, especially extreme right wingers are basically selfish xenophobes.
Their economic policies lean towards their own self-fulfilment, and their foreign and domestic policies are geared towards their own survival at the expense of everyone else.
Then they highlight and weaponise any topic that might gain them some traction from the electorate.
In addition they confuse themselves with self-delusion to the extent that they genuinely start to believe their policies are really in the interest of the nation.

I'm sorry would you split that lot, into two posts for me, thank you.

The only ignorant one is the person who thinks Reform are great.

If you bothered researching Reform you would discover they don't give a rats ass for the poor people busy supporting them.

Reform party now actually have some power and they have to achieve something......so it won't be long before we see what a failure they are.

Farage the pound land Twump

Not every Reform party voter is a racist, but every racist is a Reform party voter.
