They are wired as normal yes, you then wire your pumps, UV's etc into it....I had the exact same one, but have to say the remote function can be a bit temperamental now and again.

I refitted a different type which I found better.
 
Thanks Snico . Can lights be wired direct to the unit , or would I need a FCU .
Which system did you replace yours with - If the remote isa bit moody , its probably not worth the expense !
 
No FCU fitted, each connection inside is independently fused.

On mine I have lights, pumps, air pump, UV and wall lights fitted etc

The remote was a bit of a gimmick to me, its good if you like that sort of thing, but mine is located right next to my pool so I didnt need it in the end anyway.

I replaced mine with this, I have 2 of them installed.
