To start i have no real idea what I'm doing, This started due to mold on the roof of the Playhouse due to warm air having nowhere to go.

My thoughts atm are; Solar Panel to Controller to Battery, Powering the fan and a 'double?' switch of some sort for the lights

Solar Panel 10W 12V Monocrystalline:

Solar Panel Charger Controller Regulator 10A 12V/24V:

12Volt 7AH Rechargeable Battery:

120mm Case fan from a PC:

My first question is will all those items work together?. Secondly i'm not really sure where to start with lighting, It's only a small playhouse so only 1-2 small lights for the indoors would be needed and i'm considering some lights for the outside for a nice effect.

Any help would be welcome thanks.

As a first off, that fan is designed to keep a very small area cool (ie the inside of a PC).

Consider the volume of your playhouse and then work out how many times bigger it is than a PC!

You will need to change the air inside your playhouse at least six times an hour to have ANY effect.
THIS GUIDE may help you understand the issues.

So you will need a very much bigger fan than the tiny one you have suggested. And this will subsequently need a much bigger supply (ie a MUCH BIGGER solar panel system) than the one you are considering.

Also, point of clarification. This mould. Is it on the underside of the roof, or on the top?

Ok I guess I'll have a rethink then. The mold is on the underside of the roof.

The Play house is 6' by 4' The roof is at its highest 4' in case that makes any difference. Thanks for the reply

Could you not fit a simple vent in the top of the roof to allow the warm air to escape. Provided there is way for cool air to enter to replace the air leaving the vent this should remove most if not all the problems.

Yes that would be an option. Really the only reason i was thinking of the solar panel + Fan + Lighting was as a little project to do for me and the eldest.

Solar panel, battery and some efficient lights will make the playhouse habitable for sleep overs.... 4 by 6 will accommodate two or three little ones in sleeping bags. crowded and cramped maybe but that avoids the need to heat the place.
