Hi,

Can any help suggest how I might be able to remove this old light fitting? Looks like a central screw that is covered up but I can't get the cover off. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

You will have to get to that central screw.

You may have to damage the fitting to get the screw cap off.

Is the screw cover plastic? If so you may be able to poke a thin screwdriver through it, and force it out.

Make sure the power is completely off first.

I'm assuming theres not a small screw on the side,or both sides, of the fitting. But yes you need to force what looks like some sort of cap that's probably been stuck in. As sparkwright says poke a thin screw driver in, although it looks like you've already tried that ? Or even use a drill to drill a hole in it to get a purchase to lever it out.
