Remove battery from sounder

We moved into a flat with a texacom premier 24 alarm about a year ago. we were not given any info about the Alarm , no codes and there are various fault messages flashing . It’s a very secure flat anyway so was never bothered .

The sounder outside the front door has now started chirping as I assume the battery is close to dying.

Can I just remove this off the wall and take the battery out or will this cause the alarm or go off ?

If the alarm does go off I have no way of deactivating it

iosolate mains supply to control panel , then disconnect battery from control panel ….then do same at the bellbox ..
