I've just fitted a Wiser Hub and Stat. What's the best way to get rid of the old stat in the wiring centre so my new thing still works (currently just turned up)?

It's connected Gr - 2 and Br - 3 in the wiring centre, at the stat it's (from the left) Bl (N), Br and Gr.

Thanks.

At the thermostat, if you remove the link fitted between L and COM you are left with three wires, which from the left are:

Wire 1. in the 'N' terminal
Wire 2. 'in the L' terminal
Wire 3. in the 'On' terminal

First of all you need to identify the origin of wires in 'L' and 'On' at the wiring centre. If I understand your first post correctly you have already done this and they are 2 and 3 at the wiring centre. [The wires at the thermostat all look grey, so I'm a bit puzzled as to why they are different colours at the wiring centre, unless it's just dust that is making them grey]

Once you have positively identified where these two wires originate from at the wiring centre, the wires can be removed and a link inserted between the two terminals that you have just removed them from.

You will now have to identify the source of the 'N' wire that goes to the room thermostat and disconnect it from its terminal of origin at the wiring centre.

Thanks, yes it's dust, render, skim etc. I had to put some spit on the back to clean them up! I actually did all the wiring myself at the time, following the megaflo instructions, and understood how it all worked but that was a few years ago and it all looks like spaghetti to me now. Fortunately like a class swot I labelled all the wires with the little labels that came with the wiring centre.

Well done. The hardest bit for many is to work out which is the cable / wires going from the wiring centre to the room stat.

Nice to see the cable clamps used too (y)
